New Orleans Police Officers and soldiers conducted another house-to-house sweep in New Orleans today.
They are still trying to convince the last Hurricane Katrina survivors who are holding out in their homes that they need to leave.
While conducting the sweeps, they encountered fewer bodies than expected, thus the death toll may be at the low end of the estimated range. (New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin
said the city’s death toll could hit 10,000).
